Overview of Neuron and how to set up your first bot.
Neuron is an AI-powered WhatsApp chatbot platform. It lets you build intelligent chatbots that understand your business, use your tools, learn from every conversation, and seamlessly hand off to human agents when needed.
Get your first bot running in four steps:
Create a bot
Go to Bots and click "Create Bot". Give it a name, write a system prompt that describes its personality and responsibilities, and choose an AI model.
Add knowledge
Go to Knowledge and create a knowledge base. Add entries manually or upload documents. Then attach the knowledge base to your bot from the bot's Knowledge tab.
Connect a WhatsApp session
Go to Sessions and connect a number. You can use the WhatsApp Cloud API (requires a Meta Business account) or Baileys for direct phone pairing via QR code. Assign your bot to the session.
Test it
Send a WhatsApp message to your connected number. Your bot will respond using its system prompt, knowledge base, and configured tools.
The sidebar is organized into groups. Dashboard sits at the top; everything else is grouped: AI Agents (Bots, Personas, Knowledge, Agent Runs), Messaging (Conversations, Approvals, Broadcasts, Newsletters, Failed Messages), Audience (Contacts, Leads, Lists, Groups, Collections), Growth (Campaigns, Ad Requests, Pool, Referrals), Content (Blog, Notes), and System (Sessions, Settings, Audit Log, Docs). Groups collapse so the menu stays manageable.
Prefer a shorter menu? Use the Lite / Advanced toggle at the bottom of the sidebar to trim it to the essentials. Cloud accounts also see a wallet balance, and platform admins get an extra Admin area.
For a faster start, use the AI Setup wizard. Click "AI Setup" on the Bots page, describe what you want your bot to do in plain language, and Neuron will generate the bot configuration and initial knowledge base entries for you.
The AI setup wizard can also update existing bots. Go to a bot's page and use the AI update feature to modify its configuration based on a description.
Once your bot is live, Neuron has a lot more to build on: give the bot Tools so it can take actions (send media, search knowledge, manage contacts, escalate to a human, call your APIs), let it run Scheduled Tasks for autonomous follow-ups, reach many people at once with Broadcasts and Newsletters, capture and convert Leads, review sensitive actions with Approvals, and give replies a consistent voice with Personas. Each has its own section in these docs.
